Answers to Questions (FAQ)

What is the game Addiwords?

The name addiword is given by magazines (and gaming sites) to disguised anagrams exercises by splitting a word into 2 others.

Example: FISH + FLUNG = SHUFFLING

dCode knows how to generate but also solve these statements with its anagram generator.

What is a portmanteau word?

By merging 2 words, it is possible to create a new word (which does not exist in the dictionary) called portmanteau word. It is a fashion of social networks, to create hashtags for example.

Example: BRITAIN + EXIT = BREXIT

dCode can generate portmanteau words easily.

What is a cryptarithm?

A cryptarithm is the name given to a mathematical exercise where the numbers (from 0 to 9) in a calculation are replaced by letters. By applying the basic rules of arithmetic, it is possible to deduce the possible solutions.

Example: SEND + MORE = MONEY ⟺ 9567 + 1085 = 10652

dCode can resolve cryptarithms quickly.
