Amharic is a language spoken in the Horn of Africa especially in Ethiopia, in the Amhara region.

How to write using amharic?

Amharic uses an Ethiopian alphasyllabary, consisting of over 250 syllables.

How to read Amharic?

Each Amharic character corresponds to a syllable, the reading is syllabic.

Example: አማርኛ is read ’āmarinya and means Amharic

Amharic is a living language, still in use, so it has its own words and vocabularies. dCode does not have a translation dictionary and only returns the literal translation (pronunciation).

How to recognize a Amharic text? (Identification)

Amharic characters are usually represented with the characters Ge'ez.

Most characters are declensions of consonant glyphs: ሰ,ተ,ነ,ዘ,ደ,ጠ,ሸ,ቸ,ኘ,ዠ,ጀ,ጨ

Any references to Ethiopia or the Horn of Africa are important clues.
