What is the Dinotopia alphabet? (Definition)

The Dinotopia alphabet (sometimes referred to as Dinotopian) is a fictional writing system used in the Dinotopia universe, a series of books created by James Gurney and later adapted into a television series.

How to write in Dinotopian?

To write in Dinotopian, use a correspondence table between the 26 letters and 10 usual numbers and dinosaur footprint symbols.

Writing therefore consists of replacing each of the letters or numbers in the message with the corresponding symbol in the table:

To translate a Dinotopia message, identify each symbol in the text and use the conversion table above to find the corresponding letter in the English alphabet.

How to recognize Dinotopia symbols? (Identification)

The symbols in Dinotopia resemble footprints or marks left by three-toed dinosaur claws.

Some letters are made up of 1 paw print, others are made up of 2 paw prints.
